Andrew Lazar is producing “The Killer’s Game,” based on the Jay Bonansinga novel of the same name, which follows a Chicago hitman who’s diagnosed with cancer and decides to take out a hit on himself rather than suffer a slow and painful death. Problems arise when he discovers he was misdiagnosed and is actually in perfect health. Broad Green, operated by brothers Daniel and Gabriel Hammond, has been focused on adult-oriented dramas with “A Walk in the Woods,” “I Smile Back” and “99 Homes” among its notable first releases. It also signed a deal with “Straight Outta Compton” producer Matt Alvarez in October to bring him on as an in-house producer. Broad Green has come on board “Buena Vista Social Club — Adios,” a sequel to Wim Wenders’ 2000 documentary”; Brain on Fire,” starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Jenny Slate and Thomas Mann; and “Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption” with Destin Daniel Cretton (“Short Term 12”) directing Michael B. Jordan in the story of a civil-rights defense attorney who fights to free a death row prisoner. Lazar is best known as a producer on Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper.” He signed a first-look deal last year with Warner Bros. through his Mad Chance banner.
