Daren Kagasoff is set as the male lead in Ouija, a horror film inspired by the Hasbro board game. Universal’s pic from directors Juliet Snowden and Stiles White follows a group of teens playing with a Ouija board, making contact with an evil spirit, and desperately trying to close the door they’ve opened before meeting their own fate. Kagasoff will play Trevor, the handsome boyfriend who is skeptical about reaching out to their dead friend. Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Brian Goldner are producing. The actor starred as Ricky Underwood on ABC Family’s The Secret Life Of The American Teenager, which wrapped its five-season run in June, and appeared in the Fox pilot Delirium. Olivia Cooke, one of the stars of A&E’s Bates Motel, will star in Ouija, Universal’s horror movie based on the Hasbro board game. Douglas Smith is playing the male lead of the movie, which is being produced by Platinum Dunes, Blumhouse Productions and Hasbro. Filming begins next week in locations in and around Los Angeles with Stiles White in the director’s chair. The script by Juliet Snowden and White centers on a group of friends attempt to make contact with a recently deceased classmate through a Ouija board and begin to experience a dark and terrifying prese Cooke will play a girl who discovers that her dead friend had been messing around with a Ouija board and brings the board home. Smith is the dead girl’s boyfriend, who may know more about her death than he lets on. Daren Kagasoff has joined the movie in a supporting role. Cooke, repped by Gersh and manager Lena Roklin, starred in the British mini-series The Secret of Crickley Hall and will be making a trek to Sundance when The Signal, a thriller co-starring Brenton Thwaites, premiere there in January.
