www.newsarama.com/24513-report-asa-butterfield-in-early-talks-for-marvel-s-spider-man.htmlDeadline reports that Asa Butterfield is "in early talks" for the title role in the 2017 Spider-Man movie reboot. Deadline's sources say that Butterfield is vying for the role with a "select group of actors" that are unnamed in this new report. In April 2015, Butterfield was reported by TheWrap as one of five actors in contention for the role. At the time, those four were Nat Wolff, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James. There's no word yet if that reported group is the same as the one Deadline's new sources are referring to. It's been rumored that the new Spider-Man would debut in the 2016's Captain America: Civil War, and if true then the casting of Spider-Man would need to occur soon as filming on that movie began earlier this month. The rebooted Spider-Man film is targeted for release July 28, 2017.
