variety.com/2015/tv/news/jenny-slate-ari-graynor-obvious-child-road-comedy-pilot-1201480504/Jenny Slate, Ari Graynor Starring in Road Comedy Pilot for FX “Obvious Child’s” Gillian Robespierre and Elisabeth Holm are joining with the film’s star, Jenny Slate, as well as Ari Graynor on an untitled comedy pilot for FX, Variety has learned. The project, announced by presidents of original programming for FX Networks and FX Production Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, is described as “like ‘Thelma and Louise’ — but nobody dies.” It will explore the adult female relationship dynamic when two born-and-raised New Yorkers embark on a cross-country road trip. Production begins Tuesday in New York. Robespierre, who co-wrote and directed “Obvious Child,” will direct the pilot and write it with Holm, who also co-wrote the 2014 Sundance Film Fest darling. They will serve as executive producers along with Ravi Nandan and John Hodges of A24 Films and Slate. The pilot is being produced by FX Productions. Slate, who currently co-stars on the FX comedy series “Married,” is represented by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Josh Sandler at Gray Krauss Stratford Sandler Des Rochers. Graynor, who appeared in the CBS adaptation of “Bad Teacher,” is repped by UTA, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman. Robespierre and Holm are both represented by UTA. The pilot is the first major project for Robespierre, Holm, Slate and A24 Films since “Obvious Child.”
