Winona Ryder said it’s pretty clear she’ll be joining Tim Burton and Michael Keaton for the Beetlejuice sequel. Plans for the film will see it take place almost three decades after the original – 27 years, according to Ryder. This is pretty much real time, I suppose, if you assume that the two films take place in the years of release and that, like everything else north of Dumb and Dumber To, Beetlejuice 2 will be heading to cinemas in 2015. From: variety.com/2014/film/news/michael-keaton-says-beetlejuice-2-in-early-stages-1201104653/Michael Keaton’s newest film “RoboCop” just hit theaters, but the actor already has his sights set on reprising his title role in a sequel to the 1988 hit “Beetlejuice.” After years of rumors, Keaton told MTV News at the Los Angeles “RoboCop” junket that he and director Tim Burton have discussed the possibility of working on “Beetlejuice 2.” Writer Seth Grahame-Smith has been working on a script since at least 2012. “I’ve emailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff,” Keaton told MTV. “I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another.” Once he wraps post-production on the Walter Keane biopic “Big Eyes,” Burton’s schedule should allow plenty of time to work on the “Beetlejuice” sequel, which could be enough to get Keaton on board. “Now it looks like he is involved,” Keaton said. “And without giving too much away, we’ve talked to each other, and emailed each other, and if he’s in, it’s going to be hard not to be in.” No official “Beetlejuice 2” details have been confirmed as of yet.
