deadline.com/2015/04/broad-green-steve-nickerson-1201403739/Broad Green Pictures hired Steve Nickerson as President of Home Entertainment to handle DVD, digital and TV sales. Nickerson brings former Summit colleagues Sandy Friedman as exec veep (most recently a Cinedigm exec) and Bobby Gerber (most recently at ARC Entertainment) as senior veep. “The ways in which consumers experience films continue to evolve, as do the expectations of both the existing, traditional customers as well emerging platforms that we will partner with to bring Broad Green Pictures films to consumers,” said Nickerson. “Building an organization that recognizes and rapidly responds to the changing demands of the marketplace is a challenging, yet simultaneously fantastic opportunity, which is enhanced exponentially when done within the greater Broad Green Pictures team, where the foundation of innovation and operational excellence is already well established. The ability to work with Gabriel and Daniel to build an independent studio that will enable the realization of their unique visions for bringing film entertainment to consumers is truly exciting.” Nickerson, most recently President of Millennium Entertainment, will have a hand in shaping Broad Green’s production slate; he’ll serve on the company’s greenlight committee, reporting directly to CEO Gabriel Hammond. “Steve possesses absolutely unparalleled experience in business building and execution in home entertainment,” said Gabriel Hammond and Chief Creative Officer Daniel Hammond. “He will provide such incredibly strong leadership and create a tremendous platform for innovation — we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him, Sandy and Bobby to the Broad Green family.”
