variety.com/2015/tv/news/looking-hbo-cancelled-1201459851/‘Looking’ Cancelled After Two Seasons — Will Wrap Up With HBO Special HBO has cancelled sophomore series “Looking,” Variety has learned. Without much closure in the Season 2 finale, which aired March 22, the story will wrap up with a special on the network. “After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special,” HBO said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows loyal fans.” “Looking,” which spanned 18 episodes, followed a group of gay friends living in San Francisco. The dramedy, starring the acclaimed stage star Jonathan Groff, received critical praise and garnered a strong fan base over its two seasons, yet struggled to pull in a big audience. Created by Michael Lannan, Frankie J. Alvarez, Murray Bartlett, Lauren Weedman, Russell Tovey, and Raul Castillo rounded out the cast.
