www.newsarama.com/23842-marvel-hires-dc-editor-as-new-talent-manager.htmlWith DC picking up stakes and heading to California, Marvel has picked up one of its editors. Marvel announced Wednesday that DC Associate Editor Rickey Purdin has been hired as the comics division's Talent Manager. Purdin's hire follows the departure of Jeanine Schaefer from the role, with job duties described by the publisher as "seeking out and cultivating the next generation of comic writers and artists" as well as working with pre-existing creators. "I can’t express how thrilling it is to join Marvel after so many years of reading these comics and being shaped by the characters, stories, and creative teams,” says Purdin. “Aiding Marvel’s extremely talented editorial team is a dream-come-true and incredible developments are already in the works.” C.B. Cebulski, who previously held this position but is now Marvel’s VP of International Development, cites Purdin's "deep understanding of style and storytelling" and trakc record of finding up-and-coming" artists as key reasons for the hire. Purdin is a graduate of Texas State University, and has spent the past seven years as part of DC Entertainment, first in marketing and then in editorial. His most recent editorial work was on Multiversity, Superman and Teen Titans. Previous to that, Purdin was an editor at Wizard Magazine like several other current staffers at Marvel and DC.
