deadline.com/2015/03/schitts-creek-renewed-second-season-pop-1201394050/Pop has picked up a second season of half-hour comedy series Schitt’s Creek starring Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, for premiere in 2016. The network said today it ordered 13 new episodes of its first scripted series, which was renewed in Canada in January. Created by father-son team Eugene and Daniel Levy, Schitt’s Creek also stars Chris Elliott (How I Met Your Mother), Daniel Levy (Admission) and Annie Murphy (Blue Mountain State). It centers on a formerly filthy rich video store magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), his soap star wife Moira (O’Hara), and their two kids, über-hipster son David (Daniel Levy) and socialite daughter Alexis (Murphy), who suddenly find themselves broke. They are forced to live in Schitt’s Creek, a small, depressing town they once bought as a joke. The 13-episode first season premiered on February 11 and airs on Wednesday nights at 10 PM. The show’s first season finale will air Wednesday, May 6 at 10 PM. Schitt’s Creek is commissioned by CBC, produced by Not A Real Company Prods. Eugene and Daniel Levy also executive produce with Andrew Barnsley, Fred Levy and Ben Feigin. Schitt’s Creek is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
