variety.com/2015/legit/news/broadway-channel-key-brand-acquisition-1201445575/The Broadway Channel Acquired by Broadway Across America’s Parent Company Key Brand Entertainment, the firm that owns a stable of theater-related companies including Broadway Across America and Broadway.com, has added one more to its portfolio with the acquisition of the Broadway Channel, the producer and distributor of stage-centric video and TV programming. The Broadway Channel’s programming — which includes series grouped under headings such as What’s Hot on Broadway, OFF and West End Previews — is distributed to residential cable cable subscribers via dedicated channels from partners like Verizon as well as in some 80 Manhattan hotels. Series “Broadway Profiles” airs on New York City’s WPIX 11. Key Brand owner John Gore intends to combine Broadway Channel’s content library with the library of Broadway.com, which is one of the Web’s highest-profile destinations for theater fans and potential ticket buyers. The purchase of the Broadway Channel fills out a Key Brand portfolio that not only includes theater producer and touring-show distributor Broadway Across America but also sales portals such as Group Sales Box Office and BroadwayBox.com. (Broadway.com sells theater tickets, too.) Terms of the acquisition deal weren’t disclosed.
