It's that time of year again! Cosplayers, brush the dust off of your cape, strap your knee-high latex boots on, and find your favorite mask.
The Amazing Arizona Comic Con is invading the Phoenix Convention Center Friday through Sunday for Valentine's weekend.
Whether it be the love of your life, or your love for comics, you don't want to miss out on the lineup of amazing artists and costumes set to plaster the downtown Phoenix area.
The list of artists include Steve McNiven, the "Most Important Marvel Comics Artist of the Century," if you will. Steve has brought us the revamped Guardians of the Galaxy and Death of Wolverine.
Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool and many others of the New Mutants will be here on Saturday and Sunday only. Liefeld also created Cable, Shatterstar, took on X-Force, and then went on to create his own company called Image. You might have heard of a little comic book Image publishes called The Walking Dead.
Friday only, Todd MacFarlane will be around to sign some autographs. MacFarlane is the creator of Spawn which just celebrated its 250th issue. That is a major milestone only four other independent comics have reached. He also did some amazing work on Spider-Man in the 80's.
Greg Capulo, inker on Batman and and some work on Spawn will be there all weekend long. He was the artist for Batman during the New 52 relaunch.
Greg also wrote for Spawn and Creech for Image Comics and spent some time with Marvel writing for X-Force.
And my personal favorite, George Perez. Perez makes a rare appearance at the AACC. Perez created the New Teen Titans, Nightwing, and Deathstroke, while contributing to Crisis on Infinite Earths. And let's not forget my personal favorite of all time The Infinity Gauntlet, which coincidentally will be the culmination Marvel's films in 2019. I get shivers down my spine just thinking about it!
So come on down to the AACC, ticket prices are a very affordable $25 on Friday, $35 on Saturday, and $25 on Sunday. A three-day pass will cost you $60 and a variety of other packages are available that come with goodies.
Hours are:
Friday 2/13: 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday 2/14: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sunday 2/15: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
