Kunka has experience finding movies out of high concept, as evidenced by how he made the Black List when he converted a 52-page spec Yellowstone Falls into a film about wolves fighting zombies. Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell’s Safehouse Pictures are producing and Matt Schwartz overseeing for the company. Safehouse Pictures is in preproduction on the Guy Ritchie-directed Warner Bros pic based on the King Arthur legend with Charlie Hunnam playing the title role. Jesse Ehrman and Nik Manikurve will oversee development of Space Invaders for Warner Bros. Kunka’s got a lot of action right now. He’s adapting the Winston Groom (Forrest Gump) novel Patriotic Fire: Andrew Jackson And Jean Laffite At The Battle Of New Orleans for Madhouse Entertainment. He just sold a one-hour drama to Syfy Channel with Robert Zemeckis producing for Fox Television Studios with Jackie Levine, Pancho Mansfield and Madhouse producing as well. Yellowstone Falls is set at QED with producer Kevin Misher, and Warner Bros recently bought his spec. He’s repped by ICM Partners and Madhouse.
