Morayniss has headed eOne’s TV wing since its inception in 2008. He oversees all aspects of the company’s operations including development, production and distribution of third-party acquisitions. The company’s recent productions include the NBC comedy “Welcome to Sweden” and the upcoming BET miniseries “The Book of Negroes.” “John’s leadership, passion, strategic vision and entrepreneurial spirit have been key factors to eOne Television’s explosive growth, and we are very fortunate to have him continue at the helm to drive further growth and diversification in our television business,” said Darren Throop, eOne prexy-CEO. “John quickly put eOne on the map in the television space, and he’s done an outstanding job since.” EOne’s focus has been on developing international co-production deals to help finance projects that are attractive to U.S. and Canadian TV buyers. The indie has also expanded its TV reach beyond Morayniss’ division through recent pacts with producer Mark Gordon and unscripted shops Four Four Entertainment and Paperny Entertainment. Before heading eOne, Morayniss headed his own Blueprint Entertainment banner. He was also a longtime exec at Alliance Atlantis.
