deadline.com/2015/01/michael-crichton-icm-partners-1201350129/ICM Partners has taken on representing the Michael Crichton library in all areas. The agency will handle the majority of the titles — a couple are currently tied up — working closely with Crichton’s widow Sherri Crichton and licensees of rights. There also will be a focus on unknown and unpublished works as well as the exploitation of books and other material that have not yet been adapted to the screen. Crichton, whose life was cut short by cancer in 2008, was a prolific writer who authored Jurassic Park, The Andromeda Strain, Congo and Sphere, among others. His books have sold more than 200 million copies worldwide and been made into 13 feature films. Crichton also was creator/executive producer of one of the biggest TV drama series of all time, ER, and wrote and directed several films, including Westworld, which is now being remade as a series by HBO by Jonah Nolan and JJ Abrams, with Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris starring. In 1994, Crichton became the only artist in history to have works simultaneously chart at No. 1 in U.S. television, film and book sales with ER, Jurassic Park and Disclosure, respectively.
