A release date for the film has yet to be set. Costner produced and stars as an attorney trying to raise his biracial granddaughter (Jillian Estell) after the deaths of his wife and daughter. The film centers on a custody battle between the attorney and the child’s paternal grandmother, played by Octavia Spencer. Mike Binder directed from his own script. Binder collaborated with Costner on 2005’s “The Upside of Anger.” Besides Costner, Binder and Todd Lewis produced. Production companies are Treehouse Films and Black and White LLC. The film had originally been titled “Black and White.” News was first reported by The Wrap.
