variety.com/2014/tv/news/lifetime-flowers-in-the-attic-seeds-of-yesterday-1201324878/Off the success of “Flowers in the Attic” and its sequel “Petals on the Wind,” Lifetime has officially greenlit “Seeds of Yesterday,” the fourth installment in V.C. Andrews’ series of novels. The TV movie is slated for a 2015 release and will follow the premiere of the series’ third chapter, “If There Be Thorns.” Although the book series also features the prequel story “Garden of Shadows,” Lifetime states that this will be the conclusion to the Dollanganger tale. In the movie, the family continues to coexist — albeit miserably — as their troubled relationships, dark secrets and tragedy come to a head. Jason Lewis (“Sex and the City”) and Rachael Carpani (“McLeod’s Daughters”) will reprise their “If There Be Thorns” roles as the intensely intimate brother and sister Christopher and Cathy Dollanganger. James Maslow (“Big Time Rush”) will also star as Bart Winslow. Darren Stein (“Jawbreaker”) will pen the script for the pic and Shawn Ku (“Beautiful Boy”) will direct. “Seeds of Yesterday” is produced by A+E Studios for Lifetime, with Dan Angel (“If There Be Thorns”), Jane Startz (“If There Be Thorns”) and Jocelyn Fried (“Maneater”) executive producing, as well as Harvey Kahn (“Flowers in the Attic”) and Rick Arredondo (“Petals on the Wind”). “Flowers in the Attic” premiered on Lifetime in January to 6.06 million viewers, while “Petals on the Wind” followed up in May with a smaller, yet sizable, audience for the network with 3.4 million.
