www.sescoops.com/backstage-rumor-alberto-del-rio-fired-slapping-wwe-employee/As we noted earlier this evening, Alberto Del Rio has been released from WWE for what the company described as “unprofessional conduct,” as well as an “altercation with an employee.” According to RF Video’s Rob Feinstein, Del Rio was involved in a backstage incident at a recent WWE television taping. Feinstein claimed that Del Rio “had words” with a WWE employee who works for the company’s social media department and allegedly slapped him. It should be noted that we have been unable to cofirm this rumor, so it should be taken as exactly that until further notice. We will continue to update you as more information surfaces regarding Del Rio’s WWE release.

www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/96-wwe/38362-more-notes-on-del-rio-firingDetails are still sketchy regarding Thursday's firing of Al Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) by WWE. The story going around is that he slapped a a Social Media manager, at this week's television, but there are a variety of different stories going around regarding what led to this. Based on sketchy stories and what wrestlers have been talking about, at catering, somebody asked the person to clean off his plate. The person joked something along the lines of how that's Del Rio's job. Del Rio found out and confronted him. As the story goes, he didn't apologize and then smiled at him, and Del Rio slapped him. The belief is he will have a 90 day non-compete, which is likely to apply to TNA and AAA, both of which have interest in him. AAA would certainly be interested in him for the company's U.S. expansion.

As noted, WWE released Alberto Del Rio on Thursday for what they called an incident with an employee.
A third source has now reported to PWInsider that Del Rio allegedly slapped a WWE.com worker at this week's TV tapings. The story going around is that Del Rio said he was responding to something said that he felt was racist in nature.
It was also said that WWE will not be commenting on the situation beyond the announcement that was made on their website yesterday.
We've also noted how Del Rio has expressed interest in leaving WWE once his contract expired this year. Del Rio recently relocated to Texas, which gave some people in WWE the impression that he moved to be closer to Mexico once his WWE run was over.

The name of Alberto Del Rio remains a hot topic after the four-time world champion was released from his WWE contract on Thursday.
Shortly after WWE announced that Del Rio was let go "due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee," Ring of Honor founder and RF Video owner Rob Feinstein claimed that Del Rio slapped a member of WWE's social media team at a television taping this week. This claim was backed up by both F4WOnline.com and PWInsider.com. To add a new layer to the story, the identity of the person Del Rio had the backstage altercation with has apparently been revealed.
As members of the F4WOnline.com message board were discussing Del Rio's termination and speculating which WWE employee was on the receiving end of his slap, Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer remarked "Cody Barbierri."
On LinkedIn and Twitter, Barbierri identifies himself as WWE's manager of social media live events. Though not identified by name, F4WOnline.com's updated story on Del Rio's termination says the altercation involved the social media manager of WWE.
According to the new report, WWE's social media manager was supposedly asked to wipe his plate clean following a meal in catering. He allegedly joked that it was Del Rio's job to clean the plate, which could be perceived as racist by Hispanic people. Del Rio was informed of the comment, and confronted him. The individual did not apologize for his remark and then smiled at him. Fuming, Del Rio slapped him.
Addressing the matter Friday evening, WWE released a statement via Twitter asking fans to direct their anger toward Del Rio since he did not conduct himself in a professional matter: "@vivadelrio is responsible for his own actions. If you're angry at anyone, be angry at Alberto. There's no excuse for a pro athlete not to conduct themselves in a professional manner."
Paul "Triple H" Levesque, WWE's Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events and Creative, re-Tweeted the comment in its entirety.
According to F4WOnline.com, Del Rio is believed to be subject to a 90-day no-compete clause, which would prevent him from immediately joining TNA and AAA. Both organizations are reportedly interested in his services.

Some of the wrestlers were sympathetic to Alberto Del Rio after he was fired by WWE. Regarding the WWE employee that Del Rio assaulted, Cody Barbierri, one person told The Wrestling Observer that he was a "jerkoff who was very arrogant," but said he was intelligent and his attitude had flown under the radar of WWE officials.
Another source noted to the newsletter that Barbierri had a few situations while on the road with WWE over the past year and he had a reputation for talking down to wrestlers. However, Barbierri has had the backing of Stephanie McMahon and has been a key playe

Alberto Del Rio did media in Mexico today and noted that he cannot wrestle in the United States for one year. He also admitted there was a backstage incident with him and a WWE employee but did not go into details.
Del Rio not being able to wrestle in the US for one year could be a sign that he was found to be in breach of his WWE contract. When WWE talents are found in breach of their deal, they are informed that they will no longer be paid additional revenue due to them past the day of that breach. Also, talents found in breach cannot compete in wrestling or MMA for one year.
