After 18 years in business, Comics Unlimited in Evansville, Indiana, will close on June 15, a move owner Matthew Hawes apparently blames on the Internet. He’ll continue to sell comics online and at local flea markets. www.tristatehomepage.com/story/d/story/local-comic-book-store-closing-its-doors/29048/n0x2c1Mq5EGsdvQau8sWwgAfter 18 years of selling superheros and fantasy stories, a comic book shop is about to close its cover. Comics Unlimited is closing on June 15. Owner Matthew Hawes says the biggest reason is the internet. He says when he opened the store in 1996, the internet wasn't anything like it is today. Hawes plans to still sell comics online. He will also continue selling his inventory at conventions and flea markets. Comics Unlimited will remain open on Diamond Avenue until June 15.
