Batista's WWE status for Payback is up in the air and WWE officials, including Vince McMahon, were still trying to convince him to stay and work the match against Daniel Bryan next month.
The plan coming out of Extreme Rules is if they can't convince Batista to work with Bryan at Payback, then they will do Kane vs. Bryan in a Buried Alive Match.
F4WOnline added that Kane sitting up at the end of the Extreme Rules match with Bryan was done because WWE felt they needed that as a closing image in case they go with Kane vs. Bryan for Payback.

We noted before that the plan for WWE's Payback pay-per-view next month was Batista vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title but Batista turned down and is leaving to take time off about a month early.
Coming out of Extreme Rules, nothing is settled regarding the Payback main event, even though Batista got pinned in the Evolution vs. The Shield match. WWE officials are not happy at all with Batista changing their plans for Payback.
Vince McMahon still wants Batista vs. Bryan as the main event for Payback.

PWInsider has confirmed other reports that a Buried Alive match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title between Kane and Daniel Bryan is planned for WWE Payback next month.
They also confirm plans to have Evolution and The Shield go at it again. While there is talk of doing the six-man rematch at Payback, there is also talk of doing a series of 3 singles matches with members of each group going at it one-on-one.
The big discussion at this week's WWE tapings was what to do with The Shield and Evolution at Payback, so they are going back and forth on different ideas.

The WWE Payback post-show will be just thirty minutes. WWE tried doing a one-hour post show with Extreme Rules and it really seemed to drag on without much happening.
