Jon Cryer has joined the cast of indie comedy Big Time Adolescence, opposite American Vandal actor Griffin Gluck and SNL star Pete Davidson. The movie, which was featured on the 2014 Black List, follows a teen boy, Mo (Gluck), coming of age in his dull suburban town under the destructive guidance of his best friend, a charismatic college dropout (Davidson). Cryer will play Mo's dad. Machine Gun Kelly is also set to star in the pic, along with Sydney Sweeney, Thomas Barbusca, Emily Arlook and Oona Lawrence. Big Time Adolescence, which will begin shooting this month in Syracuse, N.Y., will be the directorial debut of Jason Orley, who also penned the screenplay. "I could not be more excited about this pairing,” said Orley. “Griffin is such an incredible young actor. To have the opportunity to have him play off of such an iconic talent as Cryer will be a lot of fun and make for a hilarious dynamic.” Will Phelps, Glen Trotiner, Mason Novick and Jeremy Garelick are producing the project. American High — a recently formed partnership between screenwriter Garelick and Mickey Liddell’s LD Entertainment that focuses on high school-set comedies — is set to finance. Cryer, who earned two Emmys for his work on Two and a Half Men, is repped by UTA, Forward, Myman Greenspan.
