www.cbr.com/injection-tv-warren-ellis-declan-shalvey/Warren Ellis & Declan Shalvey’s Injection Heading to TV Injection, the Image Comics series by Warren Ellis, Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire, has been optioned for television by Universal Cable Productions. Debuting in May 2015, the sci-fi horror series centers on five specialists who are tasked by the British government to predict the future of humanity. In doing so, the team accidentally creates a malevolent artificial intelligence through technology and shamanistic magic that ultimately seeks to eradicate the human race. The option marks Ellis’ second project with UCP after teaming up with The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd to develop an adaptation of the popular Mexican comic book series El Pantera. Additionally, Ellis and Jason Howard’s series Trees was optioned by NBC-Universal for television in 2016, with actor Tom Hardy’s production company, Hardy Son & Baker, handling development. UCP is no stranger to comic books, as it’s the studio behind the Grant Morrison/Darick Robertson Happy!, which has been renewed by Syfy for a second season, and the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s The Umbrella Academy. The third volume of Injection was released in December. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
