Timur Bekmambetov produces with Sev Ohanian, Adam Sidman and Natalie Qasabian. Debra Messing, Joseph Lee and Michelle La star alongside Cho. Searching squares off against a very busy weekend that includes Disney’s Christopher Robin, Lionsgate’s The Spy Who Dumped Me, STXfilms’ Mile 22, and 20th Century Fox’s The Darkest Minds.

The film, which will be released in August by Sony’s Screen Gems, won the NEXT audience award and the Alfred P. Sloan award at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. The film is directed and co-written by first-time feature filmmaker Aneesh Chaganty. Cho plays a desperate father searching for his missing teenage daughter following an unsuccessful local investigation. Joseph Lee and Michelle La also star. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and members of the cast and crew. The festival is in its 34th year and is presented across Los Angeles in West Hollywood, Downtown LA, Little Tokyo, the Arts District, Koreatown, and Hollywood.
