Charlie Plummer Joins Adaptation of Pippa Bianco’s Short 'Share' (Exclusive)
The actor, who will soon be seen in 'All the Money in the World,' will star in A24's currently untitled project.
Charlie Plummer, who will soon be seen in the Jean Paul Getty movie All the Money in the World, has joined A24's untitled Pippa Bianco project.
The film, which A24 will distribute, is based on Bianco's short film Share, which centered on a teenage girl whose life is torn apart after the release of a disturbing video at her small-town high school. The 11-minute short won prizes at both SXSW and Cannes.
Newcomer Rhianne Barreto is starring as Mandy in the feature version along with Plummer. Poorna Jagannathan, J.C. MacKenzie and Lovie Simone also are attached. Plummer will play a fellow high school student whose life is impacted by the leaked video.
Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, Matt Parker, Carly Hugo and Tyler Byrne are producing the feature adaptation.
Plummer is a rising star who has quite a year ahead of him. He stars in another A24 film, Lean on Pete, which played at the Venice (where Plummer won the Marcello Mastroianni best young actor award) and Toronto Film Festivals. Directed by Andrew Haigh, the film will be released in the U.S. in 2018.
He also plays J. Paul Getty III in All the Money in the World, Ridley Scott's latest directorial effort which will open Dec. 8. The film centering on the infamous 1970s kidnapping of J. Paul Getty III also stars Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Spacey and Michelle Williams. He’s repped by CAA, Primary Wave Entertainment and Zoom Talent Management.
