Come with me if you want to … learn the ways of the Force. On Friday, Rian Johnson joked that his highly anticipated Star Wars installment, The Last Jedi, would be a Terminator crossover, thanks to an amazing Empire magazine cover. "I love the folks at Empire, this is very cool. Also thrilled to announce that TLJ is a stealth Terminator crossover. Don’t @ me," the director tweeted. There are two hands featured on the holographic Empire cover, and it's a safe assumption one of them is Rey's and the other is obviously Luke Skywalker's cybernetic hand. Rey is holding Luke's lightsaber from A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, which belonged to his father when he was a Jedi Knight. Ironically, Luke lost the saber in Empire when his father (then Darth Vader) cut his hand off during combat in Cloud City. We learned in The Force Awakens the lightsaber had been recovered by someone and wound up in Rey's possession before she delivered it to Luke in the closing moments of the 2015 film. But, that isn't even the coolest part of the Empire cover — that would be Luke's hand. It looks amazing in the detail that is visible and it makes fans wonder, what happened to the fake flesh that once covered it. Sure the hand got shot and blackened in Return of the Jedi while rescuing Han, Leia and Chewie from Jabba, but it was assumed that was easily fixable. Did he just stop caring? Seems we may find out on Dec. 15 when Last Jedi hits theaters.
