AFM: Kristen Figeroid Heads Bloom’s International Sales-Distribution
In a pre-American Film Market move, sales-financing company Bloom has hired veteran executive Kristen Figeroid as president of international sales and distribution.
She replaces Gabrielle Stewart, who has moved back to London. Figeroid, who had worked at Sierra/Affinity, will report to Bloom chief Alex Walton and will oversee the international licensing and distribution of Bloom’s film slate.
Bloom’s slate includes Scott Cooper’s “Hostiles,” starring Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike; Martin Zandvliet’s “The Outsider,” starring Jared Leto; Federico D’ Alessandro’s “Tau,” starring Maika Monroe and Ed Skrein; Danny Strong’s “Rebel in the Rye,” starring Nicholas Hoult; George Clooney’s “Suburbicon,” starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore; and Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s “Woodshock,” starring Kirsten Dunst.
The company recently announced Paul Weitz’s “Bel Canto,” starring Julianne Moore, Ken Watanabe and Demián Bichir, which began selling at the Toronto Film Festival.
“Kristen comes with great experience,” said Walton. “She is a highly regarded sales agent and incredibly well-liked among buyers, producers, and agents. She has a great eye for material and talent as well as a keen understanding of the global film landscape.”
Figeroid has over 18 years of experience in independent feature films. Most recently she served as exec VP of sales and distribution for Sierra Affinity handling sales on such films as “Coldest City,” starring Charlize Theron; “Gold,” starring Matthew McConaughey; “Whiplash” from director Damien Chazelle and “Nightcrawler,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
