variety.com/2016/tv/news/hbo-alan-ball-series-1201826883/ HBO Orders Alan Ball Family Drama to Series HBO has given a series order to a new project from “True Blood” executive producer Alan Ball, Variety has confirmed. The untitled series focuses on a contemporary multi-racial family: a philosophy professor, his lawyer wife, their three adopted children from Somalia, Vietnam and Colombia, and their sole biological child. This seemingly perfect, progressive family is in actuality harboring deep rifts. Then, one of the children begins to see things others cannot. Is it mental illness? Or something else? The series is a tragicomic meditation on the complicated forces at work on us all in America today. Ball serves as executive producer alongside Peter Macdissi; the series hails from Ball’s Your Face Goes Here production banner. The project is the first new project under Ball’s recently extended two-year overall deal with the premium cabler. Deadline first reported the news.
