For those keeping track, Box Office Mojo notes that's a 126-day run. With an estimated production budget of $58 million, the Ryan Reynolds film has grossed $775.7 million worldwide. Although the movie debuted in most markets across the globe in mid-February, it didn't receive release in Japan until June 1. During its 18-week domestic run, "Deadpool" set records for largest R-rated, February and winter opening weekends, and it remains the highest-grossing movie in Fox's "X-Men" franchise. The Merc With a Mouth can also claim the second-largest North American haul for an R-rated film, between "The Passion of the Christ" and "American Sniper." Fox officially announced in April that Reynolds and director Tim Miller will return for a "Deadpool" sequel, which will reunite them with writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
