Margolis will serve as a producer on various 20th TV projects, starting with Lee Daniels’ upcoming midseason Fox drama “Star.” He served as the studio’s production exec during production of the pilot late last year in Atlanta. “Bruce is an institution here at 20th, and the only thing better than having him as a production executive is to have him literally in the trenches, producing for us,” said Jonnie Davis, 20th’s president of creative affairs. “He’s a smart, creative guy who is terrific with talent and a perfectionist when it comes to the bringing the most to the screen. He’s also beloved at this studio so we couldn’t be happier that he’ll be our line producer on Lee and TomDonaghy’s brilliant ‘Star.’ ” Margolis was most recently senior VP of production for the studio. He spent 18 years with 20th TV, working on such series as “The X-Files,” “24,” “Prison Break” and “Bones.” “This deal not only allows me to spread my wings as a producer, but to continue to work with the best executives in the business,” Margolis said. “I’m grateful to Dana Walden, Gary Newman, Jonnie Davis, Howard Kurtzman and Jim Sharp for this opportunity.”
