The deal was brokered in Cannes between Carole Scotta of Haut et Court and HanWay’s director of sales Chiara Geladrin. Colin Farrell is set to star in the pic, which is produced by Element Pictures’ Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe, who worked on Lanthimos’ previous title “The Lobster.” Haut et Court also co-produced and released “The Lobster,” which won the Cannes Jury Prize in 2015. Efthymis Fillipou, a regular collaborator with Lanthimos, co-writes the script with the helmer. “It is an honor to be partnering again with Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe to follow Yorgos’ unique and rare talent,” said Scotta. Variety first broke the news of the project coming to market this year in Cannes as well as it being picked up for U.S. distribution from indie outfit A24, which also released “The Lobster” domestically. “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” centers on Steven, a charismatic surgeon and a teenage boy who seeks to integrate him into his broken family. When the boy’s actions become increasingly sinister, Steven’s ideal life starts to fall apart. Film is fully-financed by Film4 and New Sparta Films under a partnership arrangement brokered by Hanway Films. The project was fully developed by Element Pictures and Film4.
