Paramount TV Options ‘All the Single Ladies’ From Writer Rebecca Traister
Paramount Television has picked up the rights to develop author Rebecca Traister’s book “All the Single Ladies: Unmarried Women and the Rise of an Independent Nation,” Variety has learned. Published by Simon & Schuster, the book investigates the sexual, economic, and emotional lives of women in 21st-century America.
Serving as the lead studio, Paramount Television will produce the project with Anonymous Content through its first-look development deal with the company. Anonymous’ Jeff Okin and Kerry Roberts will produce with Abby Ex. Traister will serve as an executive producer.
“We are thrilled to introduce Rebecca’s unique voice as well as her distinctive and witty perspective on a woman’s life in the twenty-first century to television audiences,” said Amy Powell, president, Paramount TV. “Her book has taken the literary world by storm and, alongside our partners at Anonymous Content, we have the perfect team to bring her brilliant storytelling to life.”

Traister is a writer at large for New York Magazine and contributing editor for Elle.
Among the other TV projects Paramount is currently developing through its deal with Anonymous are “The Alienist” and “Maniac,” both from Cary Fukunaga, and “Thirteen Reasons Why” from Selena Gomez. The latter two projects have received series orders from Netflix.
