Described to be in the surrealist Hollyweird style of John Waters and David Lynch, the pic follows Samantha (Angela Landis), an L.A. actress/dogwalker whose profession suddenly unravels. Samantha learns her roommate (Robyn Cohen) is shot by a crazed dognapper. Even worse, Samantha must recover a Maltese that’s been dognapped by a complex, lunatic dominatrix (Bai Ling). Also in the mix is a charming but shady doctor (John Randall). Cardinal XD is handling foreign on Boned. Writer-director Lee Bahr (Jesus Freak, Little Death) recently won the Wonderland Book Award for Novel of the Year for her tome Haunt. Boned is produced by Landis, Joe Siraki and Badlands Features’ Kirk Roos; the latter’s credits include Magnolia’s The Brass Teapot with Juno Temple and Michael Angarano, Painkillers starring Colm Feore and Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou, Matt Walsh’s cinematic canon A Better You, and High Road starring Ed Helms and Dylan O’Brien. Boned hits SVOD on April 12.
