Electric Entertainment Hires Zac Reeder As Domestic Distribution Chief – Berlin
Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment has created a new domestic distribution division and appointed Zac Reederzac reeder to run it. Reeder joins from Netflix where he worked on the Global Features team covering content acquisitions. As Head of Domestic Distribution at Electric, he’ll be responsible for all aspects of U.S. sales and acquisitions across feature and television properties, attending markets and festivals and assisting in the development of new product.
Prior to Netflix, Reeder oversaw content strategy and acquisitions for Hallmark’s streaming SVOD startup, Feeln. While there, he negotiated deals with majors including Warner Bros, Sony, NBCUniversal, Paramount, and MGM, as well as with many indie distributors and producers. The exec also was previously Head of Acquisitions at MarVista and PorchLight Entertainment, acquiring rights to more than 150 films and TV programs and brokering international co-production deals.
“As Electric Entertainment continues to grow and expand, having a forward thinking executive such as Zac join our company is exciting and intriguing,” says Devlin. “The challenge of domestic distribution in today’s market is thrilling to take on and with Zac leading the charge we’re confident we’re headed in the right direction.”
Electric is currently in pre-production on its third season of The Librarians for TNT and is in post on the Warner Bros film Geostorm which is Devlin’s feature directorial debut. He’s producing with Skydance Pictures’ David Ellison and Dana Goldberg and his Electric team of Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan.
At Berlin, Electric’s sales division has been handling Brad Silberling’s thriller An Ordinary Man and is also selling international rights to the Ridley Scott-produced PBS drama Mercy Street.
