Jennifer Aniston Starring in Sports Drama ‘The Fixer’
Jennifer Aniston will play professional sports manager Denise White in “The Fixer.”
In addition to starring, Aniston will also produce the movie for Fox 2000.
The studio has acquired White’s life rights, Paul Solotaroff’s 2014 Men’s Journal article “The Woman Who Bails Out the NFL’s Bad Boys” and a pitch by “Dallas Buyers Club” writer Melisa Wallack.
Aniston and Kristin Hahn will produce through their Echo Films label along with Steve Barnett and Bernie Goldmann. Aleen Keshishian will be an executive producer and Zack Morgenroth is a co-producer.
White was a contestant in the Miss USA pageant, where she won Miss Congeniality in 1994, and has been a sports manager for more than a decade with clients including NFL stars Vince Young, Jared Allen, Brandon Marshall and DeSean Jackson. She told Solotaroff that her clients need a mother figure.
“You know, people made a fuss about the ‘Blind Side’ kid, like he was a one-of-a-kind deal,” she said in the 2014 article. “Well, 90% of my clients are the ‘Blind Side’ kid and need every bit of mothering they can get. Oh, you don’t know drama until you’ve heard my horror story. I’m the only woman manager in the NFL — hell, the only woman, period, in this godforsaken league. How do you think I landed all these guys?”
Aniston and Hahn were producers on 2014’s “Cake,” for which Aniston received Golden Globe and SAG nominations.
Aniston is represented by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Wallack is repped by WME and White is repped by attorney Arash Khalili. Solatoroff is repped by ICM Partners. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
