Kino Lorber has hired Wendy Lidell as the new Senior Vice President of Theatrical Distribution and Acquisitions. As head of the division, Lidell will oversee all aspects of the company's theatrical and non-theatrical slates, which includes manning over 25 films per year. In addition, Lidell will work with CEO Richard Lorber to drive new business opportunities, such as identifying new content acquisitions and strategic growth areas. They previously worked together when Lorber acquired International Film Circuit in 1998. "It's a very happy opportunity for Kino Lorber and me, personally, to work with Wendy again," said Lorber. "She has distinguished herself as a brilliant, forward-thinking film executive and passionate entrepreneur in our challenging environment, regularly acquiring and bringing screen films of exceptional quality and commercial promise." The company's new releases later this year include Amos Gitai's "Rabin, the Last Day" on January 29 and Jia Zhangke's "Mountains May Depart" on February 12.
