In a joint statement, the companies said: “After much careful consideration we have decided to maintain our New York headquarters and other business operations at 1211 and 1185 Avenue of the Americas.” The companies, which split apart in 2013, have lease-extension options for their midtown Manhattan digs through 2025. Fox and News Corp had signed a tentative deal to occupy 1.3 million square feet in 2 World Trade Center. Silverstein Properties is the owner of the 2, 3, 4 and 7 World Trade Center office towers. Chairman Larry Silverstein said he was “disappointed” by the decision in a statement to the New York Post, but added: “I am immensely grateful to the Murdochs and their team, as well as to the Bjarke Ingels Group and our partners at the Port Authority for their inspired work over the past year.”
