A new trailer has been released for the pic that won the audience award this year at the Portland Film Festival, and you can watch it here. Sympathy, Said The Shark is a kind of cool, weird experiment shot entirely from the point of view of the film’s various characters, with the story changing depending on whose POV we’re seeing. (In this it’s similar to the long-running British sitcom Peep Show.) It follows a young couple (Melinda Cohen & Lea Coco) who during a severe storm reluctantly open their door to their estranged, soaked, and bloodied friend (Dominic Bogart) who insists that someone is trying to kill him. As the night progresses, each person’s perspective uncovers a darker secret until a much deadlier threat comes knocking. Written and directed by Devin Lawrence, it’s executive produced by Zak Bagans and Kevin Iwashina, and produced by Casey Morris and Matthew Mourgides. Along with Cohen, Coco, and Bogart, Nicholas Gonzalez and Richard Gunn also star. The deal was negotiated by Jake Hanly of FilmBuff and Preferred Content on behalf of the filmmakers.
