www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/submarine-nonstop-launch-doc-label-844023The NonStop Submarine label plans to release 10-15 non-fiction titles a year. U.S. indie sales group Submarine and Scandinavian distributor NonStop Entertainment have come together to launch a joint label, NonStop Submarine, which will focus on the release of art-house documentaries. The label plans to release 10-15 titles a year across all platforms — including theatrically — in all Scandinavian territories, as well as the Baltics, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. NonStop Submarine's initial slate includes such theatrical docs as Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict, Welcome to Leith, Chris Burden: Double Bind and Sneakerheadz. Submarine and NonStop have a long history together, having worked on such docs as Searching for Sugar Man, Cutie & the Boxer and Dior & I. “Scandinavian audiences are amongst the most sophisticated in the world and doc crazy and we look forward to supplying great films, stories and human voices from around the world by great directors as we help to expand the doc market in Scandinavia with NonStop and worldwide,” said Submarine's David Koh, Dan Braun and Josh Braun in a joint statement. The trio negotiated the deal with NonStop Entertainment CEO Jakob Abrahamsson. Abrahamsson said the deal was part of NonStop's new strategy as a regional indie player in Northern Europe. In August, Abrahamsson and partner CG Anderson bought NonStop from former owner Turner Broadcasting.
