Monterey Media has announced its acquisition of all North American rights to Sex, Death and Bowling, from director Ally Walker. The comedic drama follows an eleven-year-old boy named Eli, on a quest to win a local bowling tournament. Along the way, he’s joined by his uncle, a fmous fashion designer, who hasn’t spent any time with the family in years but has returned home to bid farewell to Eli’s ill father. As he takes Eli’s father’s place on the bowling team, the family examines old wounds and repairs longstanding rifts. Written and directed by Walker, Sex, Death And Bowling stars Adrian Grenier (Entourage), Selma Blair (Hellboy), Bailey Chase (Longmire), Drea de Matteo (Sons of Anarchy), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), and Joshua Rush (Mr. Peabody & Sherman), is scheduled to strike into U.S. theaters late autumn. Sig De Miguel, Larry Rattner, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, and Walker produced. The deal was negotiated with Circus Roads’ Glen Reynolds and Irwin M. Rappaport, and monterey media’s Scott Mansfield. Walker is repped by Domain Talent and Framework Entertainment.
