deadline.com/2015/06/amazon-licensing-rights-wolf-hall-grantchester-1201464264/Amazon Nabs Exclusive Licensing Rights To ‘Wolf Hall’, ‘Grantchester’ & More Amazon and PBS have expanded their licensing agreement to bring several series from the Masterpiece franchise to Prime members. Under the multi-year deal, Amazon Prime will be the exclusive subscription streaming home for Masterpiece programs including drama Wolf Hall, adapted from Hilary Mantel’s novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies, 1950s detective drama Grantchester, the romantic saga Poldark and drama Indian Summers, which focuses on the decline of the British Empire and birth of modern India. The series will move to Prime after they air on PBS member stations. The deal also will bring the popular kids series Odd Squad to Prime and extend the availability of PBS Kids shows like Wild Kratts, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Caillouand Dinosaur Train, among others. Prime already has exclusive streaming rights to Carnival Films/Masterpiece co-prod Downtown Abbey, with all five seasons available. The service also offers Jeremy Piven starrer Mr. Selfridge and The Escape Artist starring David Tennant, along with access to hundreds of shows from PBS including Nova and documentaries from Ken Burns.
