Tracy Falco Partners With Lawrence Bender In First-Look Deal With Len Blavatnik’s AI Film
Tracy Falco, former EVP Production at Universal Pictures, is joining producer Lawrence Bender in a first-look deal with Len Blavatnik’s AI Film. The deal will see Falco boost the creative ranks of the deep-pocketed banner.
Owned by billionaire — and newly-minted Britain’s richest man — Blavatnik’s Access Industries and run by CEO Aviv Giladi, AI Films recently financed Bill Condon’s Mr Holmes starring Ian McKellen and Laura Linney. The film, about an elderly Sherlock Holmes, opens in the U.S. on July 17 through Roadside Attractions and Miramax. Other AI titles includes the Owen Harris-directed Kill Your Friends starring Nicholas Hoult, James Cordon and Georgia King; and Martin Scorsese’s Silence, starring Andrew Garfield and Ken Watanabe. AI Film is also working with Lava Bear and Focus Features on the supernatural thriller The Forest, and XYZ and RVK Studios on Baltasar Kormákur’s English-Icelandic thriller The Oath.
At Universal, Falco oversaw the development and production of Paul Weitz’s Little Fockers, Nancy Meyers’ It’s Complicated, Oliver Stone’s Savages and Brett Ratner’s Tower Heist. She also co-produced Joe Carnahan’s Stretch and exec produced Shana Feste’s Endless Love as part of her subsequent first-look deal with the studio. Prior to that she produced Robert Redford’s Lions For Lambs for United Artists, Ted Demme’s Blow and John Dahl’s Rounders.
“Tracy is a hugely talented producer who has strong relationships with many of the industry’s greatest talents,” Bender said. “Her taste in material and experience with filmmakers make her a perfect fit for AI and I am delighted that we are going to be working together on new feature projects.”
