Funny Balloons is handing world sales. The film is Larrain’s follow-up feature to the Oscar nominated No, which starred Gael Garcia Bernal. The Club features a number of Larrain regulars, including Alfredo Castro, the star of the director’s Tony Manero . Guillermo Calderon, Daniel Villalobos and Larraín wrote the original screenplay. The film is produced by Juan de Dios Larraín (Fabula). The film follows four men living together in a secluded house in a small seaside town. Each of them has been sent to this place to purge sin. Larrain has a brace of high profile projects in the pipelines, including Pablo Neruda biopic Neruda, reuniting him with Bernal, and Jackie, about the first four days in Jackie Kennedy’s life after the assassination of her husband, President John. F. Kennedy, with Natalie Portman attached in the lead role. “We’ve followed Pablo Larrain’s impressive body of work closely over the years and The Club further establishes him as one of the most masterful filmmakers in the world today. We’re excited for the opportunity to bring this dark, mordant yet compassionate film to North American audiences,” said Music Box’s Ed Arentz.
