Les Thatcher noted to us in our talk about unions and wrestling that in 1973-74, Georgia Championship Wrestling had a health plan situation the likes of which we talked about (and other promotions in that era did have something similar). Every wrestler in the promotion put up $10 of his weekly check and if someone in the crew was injured, they would help out with medical bills from the money saved. Thatcher, Johnny Walker and Bob Armstrong were put in charge.
