The pay cabler has greenlit six new episodes, HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo announced Monday. “’High Maintenance’ has proven to be one of today’s most highly acclaimed online comedies,” said Lombardo. “We are thrilled to bring this sophisticated and clever series to our HBO audience.” The comedy, created by married couple Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair, follows a Brooklyn pot dealer (played by Sinclair) who delivers to clients with neuroses as diverse as the city. The duo directs the project, produced by Janky Clown Productions, and also exec produces with Russell Gregory. “We have been growing this show organically for three years now, and we are elated to bring it into full maturity at HBO, the gold standard of both online and televised entertainment,” Blichfeld and Sinclair said in a statement. In addition to the six new episodes exclusively on HBO, the first 19 episodes, which originally premiered on Vimeo, will be available later this year on HBO, HBO Now and HBO Go. Blichfeld and Sinclair are represented by UTA and manager Russell Gregory at Regarding Entertainment.
