The story centers on a young man who gets swept into the seedy underbelly of the scrapping industry. Abdi will play a limo driver who acts as a fence for stolen copper. Producers are Luke Jaden, Cort Johns, Frank Capra III, Phil Wurtzel, Anthony Garth, Michael Zervos and Andy Henry. Abdi, who was born in Somalia and moved to the U.S. when he was 14, made his film debut in “Captain Phillips,” receiving a best supporting actor Oscar nomination. He stars alongside Aaron Paul in Gavin Hood’s upcoming thriller “Eye in the Sky” and in Phil Volken’s crime drama “Extortion.” Abdi is repped by SMS Talent and Morris Yorn.
