Mezrich’s books “The Accidental Billionaires” and “Bringing Down the House” were the basis for the Sony movies “The Social Network” and “21”; Mezrich’s “Seven Wonders” is set at Fox. “Once Upon a Time in Russia,” to be published June 2 by Atria Books, centers on Russian billionaires Boris Berezovsky and Roman Abramovich. Berezovsky made his fortune during the privatization of government property during the 1990s, teaming with his protege Abramovich in a variety of hugely profitable investments. Ratner provided the origins of the idea for the book and pitched it to Mezrich. Ratner will produce “Once Upon a Time in Russia” with James Packer and John Cheng executive producing. Chantal Nong and Julia Spiro are overseeing for Warner Bros. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
