deadline.com/2015/04/andrew-weil-netflix-comedy-executive-1201405026/As Netflix is expanding its original comedy slate, the streaming service has added Universal TV VP Comedy Andrew Weil to its original series comedy team, overseen by Jane Wiseman, to whom Weil will report. Weil has been a rising star — he was 27 when Uni TV brought him in as VP Comedy in late 2011 after he had served as head of scripted television for BermanBraun. At Uni TV, Weil is credited with shepherding the Golden Globe-winning Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He also worked on the studio’s The Mindy Project and About A Boy as well as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which originally was developed and produced for NBC then moved to Netflix with a two-season order. The Tina Fey-Robert Carlock series, whose first season recently launched on the online network, was the first ongoing original half-hour comedy series on Netflix, which previously did a new season of Arrested Development. There is a slew of upcoming original comedies on tap, including Grace And Frankie, Love — which also has a two-season pickup — With Bob and David and a number of half-hours that are in negotiation/development stages, including a Full House reboot.
