The film, which premiered at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival, will get a platform and digital release later in 2015. Based on the novel by Akio Fukamachi, the film centers on an ex-detective (Kôji Yakusho) searching for his missing daughter only to discover her shockingly secret life. The movie was a hit in Japan when it was released in June with an R-15 rating, which means children under that age are banned from seeing the film in theaters. It made $6.4 million there and is the latest violent work from Nakasima, whose 2010 pic Confessions was shortlisted for the Foreign Language Oscar.
