Petersen will play a new military officer in Los Alamos who is deeply religious and believes he’s been called by God to spread American values around the globe. The period drama, from Lionsgate TV, Skydance TV and Tribune Studios, revolves around the secret development of nuclear weaponry at the Los Alamos laboratories in New Mexico in the mid-1940s. John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Ashley Zuckerman and Rachel Brosnahan star. “Manhattan” was created by Sam Shaw, who exec produces with director Thomas Schlamme and Skydance TV’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marcy Ross and Dustin Thomason. Petersen had a 10-year run as the star of CBS’ “CSI.” “Manhattan” marks his first major TV role since leaving the long-running series.
