deadline.com/2015/03/stacey-sher-deal-fx-1201395195/FX has closed a first-look production deal with feature producer Stacey Sher and her production company Shiny Penny. Under the two-year pact, Sher and Shiny Penny will develop projects for FX Networks. Sher is coming off her first TV pact — a two-year first-look deal at AMC for Double Feature Films, her company with Michael Shamberg. At AMC, Sher is executive producing the upcoming straight-to-series drama Badlands. Sher, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Django Unchained and Erin Brockovich, is currently producing The Hateful Eight, her third collaboration with Quentin Tarantino. “Stacey is a fearless storyteller whose remarkable run of feature films show a willingness to approach challenging topics with unflinching honesty and considerable artistry,” FX’s Nick Grad said. In addition to Sher, Shiny Penny includes EVP Coco Francini, associate producer of The Hateful Eight and co-producer of Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here, for which she ran the Kickstarter campaign. In addition, Emily Levitan has joined Shiny Penny as creative executive. In TV, Sher previously served as executive producer on the Comedy Central series Reno 911, and was attached as an executive producer on the proposed series remake of Reality Bites at NBC.
