There will be a special screening of the film April 24 at the Beacon Theatre, and the fest will premiere the documentary Monty Python – The Meaning of Live directed by Roger Graef and James Rogan. There will also be screenings of Monty Python’s Life of Brian and Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life. The five surviving members of the legendary comedy group, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin, will come together for the Holy Grail event. Am I too big a fan of Monty Python, or is this the most compelling part of the Tribeca Fest slate unveiled so far? That might seem like a shot at the festival, but I’d say it is merely a flesh wound.
